WHY?: BECAUSE OUR CHILDREN ARE EMOTIONALLY STRONG, especially when we give them what they need. And we can have fun doing it!

I Created Prepare for Life: BEHAVIOR — because African American students are suspended, expelled and referred to special education for behavioral disabilities more than any other racial ethnic group. According to the Dept of Education, they are 3 times more likely to be suspended than White students. Although they only make up about 15% of the student population, they represent nearly 25% of students identified as Emotionally Disturbed.

So much of this can be avoided simply by addressing the ‘cultural divide’ between home and school. As parents, we can prevent our children from being penalized unnecessarily by using household and community activities to develop their understanding of the cultural differences between home and school.

PREP 4 Life Behavior helps Black parents bridge the home-school gap so that their children can seamlessly transition between the two with success.
